We took the higher level characters for a spin and things went exactly according to plan. By that I mean they failed so that the real heroes could succeed later while overcoming not only the same obstacles but also their mind controlled idols. Finally all coming together.

Searching for more information about the lay of the land around the bugbear crag, the party ends up ambushing a patrol, but when the ambush doesn't get surprise, the battle is far more even than intended.
