When I recently heard about the pukwudgie, I was surprised to find very little even more modern editions of the game, and nothing for AD&D, so we plug the hole. If anyone else knows any good Native American lore I can look into, it's a direction I'm leaning these days.

Searching for more information about the lay of the land around the bugbear crag, the party ends up ambushing a patrol, but when the ambush doesn't get surprise, the battle is far more even than intended.
